2.6x2.3x1.3 cm
Location: Flambeau Mine
Ladysmith
Rusk Co.
Wisconsin
Description: A well crystallized cluster of Chalcocite, a Copper Sulfide, with a sculptural shape.
It has a dark metallic sheen and nice iridescence in hues of blue and green. Really pretty when sunlit.
While the production was short lived, (93 to 97) these iridescent Chalcocite crystals from the Flambeau mine were regarded
as some of the best examples of this mineral ever found in North America.
The site now has been totally restored.
