Description: An odd and extraordinary specimen! Half fossil, half mineral. The Belemnite was replace by agate, the flesh of the ancient squid provided the necessary sulfur in combination with the ferrous environment to allow for perfect conditions for the growth of the pyrite crystals. The Belemnite lived from the early Jurassic to the late Cretaceous Period. 199-65 million years ago. Weight 24 grams.
